Â鶹´«Ã½ Alumna, Kseniya Leonteva, recently visited Â鶹´«Ã½ and is going to donate 5000$ for one freshman student of Â鶹´«Ã½ in 2015.
Kseniya graduated from Â鶹´«Ã½ in 2003 with BA in American Studies and minor in Business Administration. While being in the last semester of her studies, she was fortunate to receive DAAD scholarship for 2-year for the Master’s program in Germany. She obtained her Master’s degree in European Culture and Economy graduating from Ruhr University Bochum in 2006.
Kseniya wants to support one student of European studies at Â鶹´«Ã½, and is going to make donation for the next year freshman student. “I’ve made a decision to make a donation into the scholarship fund as a way to thank the University for offering me scholarship when I came to study at Â鶹´«Ã½ (AUK at that time). If not for that scholarship I had not been able to study at Â鶹´«Ã½. It’s all about reciprocation and keeping the cycle of giving going. I hope this donation will be useful to someone who truly needs it”, said Kseniya.
Upon completion of her studies in Germany, Kseniya had an opportunity to travel to the US and visit her friend, who later became her husband. “I met my future spouse in 2002 in Bishkek while on my internship with Habitat for Humanity. We kept in touch throughout the years, and upon my graduation from Master’s program we made plans for our marriage. That’s how I ended up in Florida where I reside and work now. My first job in Florida was in the social program field with Department of Children and Families where I worked for almost 5 years. Currently I’m working for Monroe County Veterans’ Affairs” said Kseniya.
At the end of the conversation, Kseniya wanted to make a wish for the students of Â鶹´«Ã½.
Dear students of Â鶹´«Ã½, I wish you much success in all your endeavors. I wish you to find your calling in life and enjoy whatever you choose to do. And when you leave the University walls, I wish you to carry on the excellence, integrity, and great spirit into the world. Good luck till we meet again!
