This project is carried out within the framework of NATO's “adaptation of military personnel to civilian life” program. The main goal of the NATO project is to assist in retraining former military for their employment in the civil sphere.
The Ceremony, dedicated to the opening of the program, was attended by military officers, NATO representatives from Ukraine and Brussels, representatives of the Ministry of Defense KR and reps of Continuing Education Center – the implementors.
Two educational centers were selected through competition to serve as main implementers: LingoComp Computer-language center and the Continuing Education Center of Â鶹´«Ã½. The Continuing Education Center implements a program on entrepreneurship and small business management that provides skills and a set of tools necessary to establish and manage own business. English language courses provide military staff with opportunity to acquire the most in-demand in all spheres language skills.
Program participants are also supported with information and consultations related to employment opportunities.
Continuing Education Center has already seen two successful graduations of “Business: small business management” program participants. They have started a small business making sauerkraut, selling it to shops around Bishkek. At the moment their product is sold in 150 shops, and they have plans to expand in the summer, canning fruits and other vegetables, and making jellys and jams.
