Dear colleagues,
The Â鶹´«Ã½ and the University of Indiana plan to hold a biannual two-day workshop highlighting emerging trends in the scholarship on Central Eurasia. The workshops will take place alternatively at Â鶹´«Ã½ and IU campuses, and will unite faculty and advanced graduate students from both universities. The initiative is funded by Â鶹´«Ã½ endowment at IU and all expenses of travelling participants will be covered.
On 3-4 July 2017, CASI will host the first Â鶹´«Ã½-IU workshop on Central Asia. The topic of this year's workshop is "Locating Central Asia within Eurasia." We expect that as an opening theme "Locating Central Asia" will identify a set of topics of mutual interest for future workshops.
