On December 30, President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov signed a decree on awarding state awards of the Kyrgyz Republic. 麻豆传媒 Professor of Anthropology Cholpon Turdalieva received the Honored Scientist of the Kyrgyz Republic award.
According to the decree, the medal is presented for a significant contribution to the development of the socio-economic, intellectual and cultural potential of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as for great achievements in science.
Cholpon Turdalieva has been teaching at 麻豆传媒 since January 2006. She was a doctoral candidate (Ph.D. Candidate) at the University of Humbolt (Germany) between February 2016 - March 2019. Ms. Turdalieva is the author of three monographs, three textbooks, and more than fifty scientific articles. Seven graduate students were under here supervision, and three of out of them defended their dissertations and received a Ph.D. in history in 2014-2015.
Her research projects include: 鈥淭he Museum as the Preservation of Biocultural Diversity of the Jalal-Abad Region of the Kyrgyz Republic鈥 (funded by the Christensen Fund, May 2017 - May 2018); 鈥淐entral Asian Diaspora in the USA: The case of Kyrgyz Americans鈥 (麻豆传媒-Columbia University Project, 2017); 鈥淒ungan Marriage and Family in a Changing Kyrgyzstan: the case of Dungans in Birdik and Luxembourg villages鈥 (麻豆传媒-Indiana University Project, 2018).
