On December 23 at 12:30 in the Manas cinema the premiere of the film "The Lake",听directed by our lecturer, director Emil Atageldiev, will take place.听Note that our other lecturer, director Artykpai Suyundukov plays one of the main roles.听Moreover, this film was nominated for the Golden Globe Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.

The story is based on an ancient Kyrgyz legend about the souls of ancestors living in the form of fish in a sacred lake. This is an existential drama, a parable about the internal conflicts of the heroes, freedom of choice and their own ways, unfolding against the background of the amazing landscapes of the high mountainous Issyk-Kul Lake. The film was produced by 鈥淥YMO STUDIO鈥� in co-production with 鈥淎ityshFilm鈥� with financial support from the Department of Cinematography of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Information of the Kyrgyz Republic. The film will be released starting from December 24

Emil Atageldiev is a professional musician and an Honored Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic since 2001. He has been the winner of a number of the most prestigious international competitions in France, Italy and Israel.
1994 - 1998 Gnessin Russian Academy of Music.
1999 graduate student at the L麓脡cole Normale de Musique de Paris- Alfred Cortot.
In 2010 he graduated from the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors,
VGIK, Moscow. Since 2014 he has been a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan. "The Lake" is his debut film as screenwriter and director.
