June 7, 2023
Dr. Natalia Korosteleva, an Associate Professor of School of Entrepreneurship and Business Administration participated in AMICAL Conference 2023 held at Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane, Morocco. This was possible thanks to funding granted by AMICAL to the faculty.
More than 120 participants attended the conference and discussed topics varying from knowledge sharing and transforming higher education to students role in organizational communication. However, the most prominent and cross-cutting themes were the utilization of digital methods and tools across disciplines and the broader field of Artificial Intelligence.
Dr Korosteleva focused on the main findings of her project titled "AI Tools Application within the Business Communication Course" which was conducted during the Spring semester of 2023 to provide students with valuable opportunities to delve into the intricacies of AI-powered tools. The presentation covered various aspects, including objectives, limitations, the set of AI tools used, students' activities, conclusions, results, and takeaways for AMICAL participants.
“Final products” of students, videos created by students with the help of ChatGPT, Midjourney, AI Voice Generator, and D-ID tools (different types of information and various modalities) as well as sentiment analysis of oral messages conducted on Speakai.co platform drew a particular attention from participants and generated numerous questions on potential implications.
AMICAL is an international conference hosted by a different member institution each year, bringing together faculty, staff, and librarians from 30 international liberal arts institutions in the consortium. This platform allows AMICAL members and invited experts to share their challenges, find solutions, and gain inspiration for improving pedagogy, technology, and libraries in our international and intercultural environments.
