Afghanistan-Central Asia Forum
The overwhelming majority of authoritative knowledge on Afghanistan has been produced in the West. Global discourses on the “stans” have been shaped, and are being shaped, by this authoritative knowledge, leaving little space for alternative analyses and interpretations or for critiques.
The Central Asian Studies Institute at the Â鶹´«Ã½, in cooperation with the Embassy of Afghanistan in the Kyrgyz Republic, is launching a new “Central Asia-Afghanistan” forum. The forum will host talks and analyses on a wide range of issues relevant to both Afghanistan and Central Asia and provide insiders’ views on the past and future of the region. It aims at enhancing mutual knowledge on a regional level, raising the interest of Central Asian scholars towards Afghanistan and vice versa, and at broadening the scope of interactions between the two regions.
