The academic year started off with a ‘bang’ for the Sociology department. Three instructors from this department became speakers at three different conferences.
Gulnara Ibraeva spoke at the “Gender policies of Russia in the 21st century” workshop in Karelia, Russia. The theme of her report was “Substance and the current mass media”
Mehrigiul Ablezova presented on the “Environmental conditions and poverty” at an international conference in Philippines, Manila.
Finally, Galina Gorborukova participated in XII biennial conference of the European Society for Central Asian Studies in Cambridge, UK. Her presentation “Being Russian in Kyrgyzstan” was received by the audience with great interest.
